Tomorrow is our LAST GAME OF THE SEASON and we will be there RAIN OR SHINE!  It will be  a very exciting day with a final game and awards.  Please dress accordingly.

I am excited to announce that Cielo made an amazing showing, last Sunday, at the State Tournament.  All of our teams came out to play, and they all did very well!  Here are the results:

Final Game and Awards on Saturday 12.12.15

This season will be coming to a close this Saturday, December 12th.  Following each game, we will have an awards ceremony.  Each player will receive a trophy and those with perfect attendance for the season will receive a medal as well!  Ribbon winners for each team will also be awarded.  It's is  a great way to end the season, so I look forward to seeing all of you there!

Tournament Updates

The State Tournament is this Sunday, December 6th.  The schedule can be found below, and a hard copy will be distributed tomorrow.  We are so proud of ALL of the players. GO CIELO!!!

Tournament Results

The Fall Desert Cup Tournament was a huge success!  All of the Cielo teams played their very best, worked as a team, and had a great time.  I couldn't be more proud of all the teams.  I especially wanted to thank all of the parent-coaches who dedicated their time an energy into leading these teams.

Below is the schedule for the State Tournament that will be held this Sunday, December 6th.  Please note that the teams listed are referring to those who played on those teams for the Fall Desert Cup Tournament.  If your team qualified, please use this link: https://az.activstars.net to pay the $20 registration fee for State Tournament.  You will also be able to pay upon check-in at the event.  

The State Tournament schedule will be sent via email, and it will be distributed on Saturday as well.  Since I was unable to post the document on the blog, email is the only way to distribute the information, so everyone on the email list will receive it.  If your child did not participate in tournament, please disregard.

Fall Desert Cup Tournament Information

The tournament is finally upon us!  The Desert Cup Tournament is the Regional qualifier for the State Tournament in December.  This weekend, teams will either play all three games (All-Stars have four) on either Saturday OR Sunday.  Please view the schedules below for your child's game times.  It will be an exciting and fun-filled day for you and your family, so here are a few tips to make the most of the day.

*If your child is not participating in the tournament this weekend, you have the week off.

Reminders:

• All players are required to check-in 1 hour prior to their first scheduled game
• Players ages 10-15 are REQUIRED to provide proof of age upon check-in
• Teams will be coached by parent volunteers, as listed on the schedule below (coaches are not allowed to coach their own teams - they will be reffing games)

Bring:

• Layers - It will be cold in the morning and warm in the afternoon - BE PREPARED
• Sunscreen - You can burn on any given day in Arizona
• Water - Bring PLENTY of water for your child and the rest of the family for the long day
• Food - There will be food vendors there, but you can bring your own food, drinks, and snacks to the complex

Most importantly, HAVE FUN!!!  This is an event they have been working hard for all season, so enjoy it!  No matter what happens, they are just kids, and they are there to learn and have a positive experience out on the field.  The best thing you can provide for your child is their own cheering section, so let them know how proud you are of them!

Sun Devils have a double-header at 11:00 am and 12:00 pm tomorrow.

Argentina will play at 2:00 pm.

Game Day #3 and Tournament Update

Game #3

Our third game of the season is just around the corner! Please view the game schedule and rosters below to confirm your game time.  The game times are consistent for the season, except for:

• Double headers (normal time plus and additional game - no extra fee)
• 10-15 field rotation (game times may change by one hour - we will update the blog as soon as we get the schedule)

Tournament Update

The registration deadline for the Fall Desert Cup Tournament was last weekend.  However, they've allowed us to accept registrations if there is space available.  If you are still interested in your child participating in this much anticipated event, please request a registration form at the check-in table on Saturday.  Tournament information is below.

For those who are new to tournament, here is some additional information:

• Each team is guaranteed three games on Saturday
• Teams that qualify will play additional games on Sunday
• The schedule for the Saturday's games will be available next week
• PARENTS COACH THE TEAMS - To keep costs low, the coaches referee the games and each team will have 1-2 parent volunteers to coach/assist the teams.  If you are interest in being a parent coach for your child's team, please send an email to cielosoccer@gmail.com ASAP.  
• If you have any questions, feel free to email or ask on Saturday.

Fall Desert Cup Tournament - Registration Deadline 10/31

The Fall Desert Cup Regional Soccer Tournament is Saturday and Sunday, November 21st and 22nd.  The deadline to register is this Saturday, October 31st.  You must register at our check-in table on Saturday, because online registration is not available.  Please view the flyer below for further information.

We have pictures this Saturday as well.  Refer to the previous post for details.

Picture Day this Saturday 10/31

The ActivSTARS photo crew will be there on Saturday.  Come dressed in your soccer-best, and be ready with a big smile!  Games will be at the same time as last week, and that will be your new game time for the remainder of the season.  Plan to arrive early or stay after your scheduled game time, if you would like to order pictures.  See the flyer below for more details.

Updated Rosters and Game-Day Information

Rosters

Please review the updated rosters for your child's team.  A few changes were made to best ensure equitable playing time.  The game times may differ from your previous practice time, so it's important to know when your child's game will begin.  Plan to arrive 10-15 minutes before your game time to check-in at the table (look for our canopy) and warm-up.  Make sure to bring plenty of water and dress for the weather...this season has been a little unpredictable.

Soccer Clinic this Weekend

The Soccer Skill Challenge Clinic is this Sunday, October 18th.  It's a great opportunity to get extra practice, refine your skills, and learn new skills too!  It's an event students look forward to every season, and it's a great deal as well.  See the flyer below for further details.

Practice Tomorrow

Hopefully, you had a fun and restful fall break!  We have our normal practice schedule tomorrow, so we can't wait to see you there!

No Soccer Tomorrow

Just a reminder, soccer is cancelled tomorrow, October 10th, for Fall Break.   Enjoy your weekend!

Team Rosters and Registration

Happy Friday Cielo Soccer Stars!

Rosters
Please view the team rosters below to find your child's team name and practice time.  Due to the unexpectedly high numbers of 7-9 year olds, I am looking at creating a fourth team during the 12 pm hour.  This will ensure that your child gets adequate playing time when it comes to games.  Creating this team early in the season, will allow them to practice with each other and learn to work as a team before games begin.  I will do this next week, after I'm able to work with the teams more closely on Saturday.

If your child is currently playing at the 11 am practice time, and you're willing to move to the 12 pm practice time, please email me.  After Saturday's practice, I'll make the final changes, and post the updated rosters next week.

I greatly appreciate your time and patience.  My goal is always to make this a fun and valuable experience for the kids.  Having more students than expected is a great challenge to have!

Registration
Finally, if you haven't or were unable to register for the season, please do so by tomorrow (Friday) morning.  We have not figured out a way to navigate to the registration site through Kyrene Community Ed (KCE), so use the link below.  If you are still having problems, then you can call the KCE department directly.  If you don't register by tomorrow morning, you'll need to provide a printed or electronic receipt of payment.

This season, you have the option to pay for season in two installments of $38.50 or pay in full $77. We cannot take payment for classes at our location, so it must be done ahead of time through Kyrene.

Tomorrow is our final game for the season! Please make sure your player is on time and ready to play our last game. It will be fun.

Game #5 Saturday 5.9.15

We are back to our game schedule at Mesa Education this Saturday!  Remember your player will need to wear his/her light blue game jersey Saturday. In addition, it is hot. Players need plenty of water and sunscreen.

This is our second to last game. Looking forward to seeing all players play as we are winding down the season.

Tournament Updates.

Congratulations to the Dust Devils and Argentina! They are competing tomorrow at 9am. Excellent work for qualifying and good luck tomorrow. It will be single elimination tomorrow and no matter what each team will play two games. Your player will need to arrive at 8am for check in.

Every player good job for playing in the heat today giving your best. Rest up. Next week will be at the Mesa education center playing another game.
